On the Square

A run along George Street between Charlotte Square and St Andrews Square has become a favoured route during lockdown.  In the early 80s, I worked on 'the Square' then dominated by banks and insurance companies.  Much has changed in the last 35 years but history is preserved in the buildings.  These magnificent relief carved oak doors are the entrance to an Italian restaurant on the south west corner of St Andrew Square.  It used to be the Guardian Royal Exchange Insurance Company.
