The First Snowdrops

This morning it was a joy to find these snowdrops, that appear every year in an area of woodland close to the River Plym. Snowdrops, sometimes also known as Candlemas Bells, are both a flower of winter and of Spring. They are strongly symbolic of purification and new life.
