Plym Bridge

Today I walked though woods and muddy fields to Plym Bridge. This lovely old bridge is now closed to traffic but you can walk over it. It once linked important monastic centres at Plympton, Buckland and Tavistock. One early account tells of a wayside chapel adjacent to the bridge, though there appears to be no tracce of it now. There were many weekend visitors here today, though I manmaged to take this image without any people crossing, which seemed to give it a timeless appearance.
