The Message

I have looked out of the window now for over a week, at a small patch of Irises. This morning I took my camera out to capture an image. Whilst most of the garden sleeps, there are currently four irises in flower. They grow in a sheltered spot that receives no direct sunlight at the moment. The plant is named after the goddess Iris, because of the beauty and colour of it's flowers. Iris was the messenger who travelled on the rainbow between the lands of the human world and the gods. The flower implies a message and a promise of hope.
