Safeguarding mothers and their babies

Today's photo from IMPACT India's Community Health Initiative programme in rural Maharashtra.

Namrata and Chhaya were both identified as having high-risk pregnancies, thanks to ante natal screening. Namrata's urine and blood samples came back abnormal and Chhaya's sonogram showed her baby in the breech position. Thanks to these pre-screening measures, both women gave birth safely at health centres, with trained medical assistance.
