Mealy & Lesser Redpoll

So after yesterday's trip to Bedfordshire I did a bit homework. Studied the differences between Mealy & Lesser Redpolls and studied the access points for the Radwell Gravel Pits.

At The Lodge found three examples of Mealy Redpolls and then photographed them. At Radwell found better access to the Gravel Pits and found the two Tundra Bean Geese. It pays to do your homework.

Today's photo shows a Mealy Redpoll (greyish back, white wing bar, longer wings) and a Lesser Redpoll (brownish back, buff in wing bar, shorter wings). Head over to RCB for a closer look at the Mealy Redpoll.
