Annie had nursing exams during the day. I'm not sure but must have been close to the final 3rd year ones. She was at the Middlesex Hospital, just off Oxford Street, so it wasn't a long way for us to go to the Duke of York's Theatre in the West End for the musical which was first performed at Old Vic Bristol in 1954, my birth year and performed in that run 2,283 times.

This was the first West End revival since then, but it had another one in 1996 and in Hammersmith 2009.
