Beach BBQ

Lourdes, our friend from the volleyball court and whose volleyball team we helped sponsor, organized a BBQ/potluck on the beach. She was unfazed when we told her we had friends visiting, inviting them along without a thought. We, being the good gringos that we are, showed up at the appointed hour. She being perfectly Mexican, arrived an hour and a half later. Others kept showing up throughout the day and still more were arriving as we left hours later. I imagine the party lasted until dark. This is her husband, José Luis, beach vendor who works next to our court, who was in charge of frying up the fish his co-worker caught that morning. This was after the first round of barbecuing, which included carne and papas, and most likely before other rounds later in the afternoon. Except for the wind, it was an ideal day on the beach!
