Light Through the Crack

From Amanda Gorman's poem today at Biden and Harris' inauguration:

We did not feel prepared to be the heirs of such a terrifying hour,
but within it we found the power to author a new chapter,
to offer hope and laughter to ourselves.
So while once we asked '
how could we possibly prevail over catastrophe,'
now we assert: 'how could catastrophe possibly prevail over us?
...
When day comes, we step out of the shade, aflame and unafraid.
The new dawn blooms as we free it.
For there is always light if only we’re brave enough to see it,
if only we’re brave enough to be it.

Such a moving ceremony. The love and the hugs, maybe what moved me the most. Amanda's yellow and red and golden sparkles. Lady Gaga's clothes, wow! And has anyone ever sung the National Anthem so passionately? And JLo's beautiful singing. And the words of the oath. And Kamala's smile. It did all feel like an offer of hope. May it be so.

Gratefuls:
- a feeling of Spring in the air, saw the first almond blossoms
- a good walk with Mike, then coming back, and together sowing grass seed on our "lawn" to hurry the process of local grasses
- loads of needed rain, coming down so heavily it woke us from our nap, but perfect for the grass seed - and the Lake, still low

Oh, and my youngest brother taken by ambulance from GP's to hospital, but OK, and the Ecuadorian (my birthplace) consultant keeping him in to give a good check-over, instead of having to wait weeks.
