Pigeon toes

I felt a little behind all day as we slept in this morning. Our upstairs neighbours usually wake us up, but there was no morning door slam and we slept through. I'm not complaining – it's nice to have a lie in.

We walked through Norwood Park and round Gipsy Hill to West Dulwich, coming home past the cemetery and this pigeon spotted in the window of a mausoleum. It was a bright, dry day, perfect for the Poppy walk later on, when I revisited Norwood Park for an exciting game of stick. Poppy was so enthusiastic about the game that she carried her winning stick all the way home. Her owner has a lovely new garden ornament.

The stars were bright tonight – frost ahead for tomorrow, perhaps.
