Sgwarnog: In the Field

Many

I've been passing this cluster of fungi regularly over the past couple of months on one of my walking routes. I've photographed it before, but the light is usually poor and the image never seems to do it justice. Today's is reasonably sharp and colourful so its time has come.

I think it might be a form of Many-zoned Polypore Hairy Curtain Crust, but I'll happily be corrected my more expert fungi folk.

It was nice to have a sunny day, although I spent most of it working indoors. Once out on my walk it was a good day for birds of prey. First a Kestrel, then a Red Kite and finally a pair of Buzzard, all within half a mile or so.
