Maidenhair fern

These modest-looking ferns are easily overlooked amongst more showy plant colleagues, but in my book are quite the quiet achievers.
There's no variegation at all in the leaves - the exact same tone of smooth, bright green right across each and every leaf, with a subdued and definitely unglossy finish, and tiny tonal variations subtly outlining the veins.
But the network of fine, smooth, black 'branches' forming each frond provides enough contrast with the leaves to give the whole plant a sense of drama and presence, but delicate fragility at the same time.
Hats off.
