A Plea from our Children

The family that lives in the house by the jitty seem to be very socially minded.  The children are encouraged to express themselves as they have done with this huge jigsaw piece in their window, urging those who walk by to observe lockdown rules. They must be so missing school.

Of course, it snowed and continues to snow as I write. Basil and I went out as soon as possible to enjoy it as well as taking atmospheric photos. See extra for a shot out of our bedroom window.

When I woke this morning, the light that was filtering in below the curtains was grey, the sort of light that presages snow. And it was so cold, reminding me of the line from the Christmas carol, 'Earth stood hard as iron.' People who had got up before me had posted photos of a very rosey sunrise. We were bound to get precipitation.

We needed chicken for our stir-fry this evening. Len hadn't gone out while the roads were passable. When he did drive to the Coop, two cars had got stuck on Kirkhill and he'd had to take a long route home. Even that was snow covered. He's back home safely now.
