Life's tangled skein

2015-12-06 (Day 340) Stirling Fisheries

The River Forth at Kildean, Stirling, is famous for being a little bit prone to bursting its banks. Occasionally it does flood a little... but this is a bit more than usual.

Amongst the trees on the right of the picture is a sign - if you read it carefully you might be able to see that it says "Stirling Fisheries". This sign is normally placed so as to be at a comfortable reading height when you stand (yes, stand!) beside it.

And then look for a little orange semicircle south-east of the Wallace Monument. That's a lifebelt - normally it's on the opposite bank of the Forth. Today you would be at risk of drowning just swimming to the lifebelt!
