If you can't beat them...

Woodpigeon ( Columba palumbus)

Portrait of a Woodpigeon.   I know there is at least one blipper who isn't keen on pigeons.   However I find Cushats (as we called them in the dialect of my youth) interesting birds.

We have a pair which for a good number of years have been nesting in one of the Chamaecyparis lanei.   Pigeons are one of the genus of birds which can, given suitable conditions, breed all the year round.  I suspect our pair are in the process of starting another brood.
