If you can't beat them...

Greystoke Cross

As you can see, an overcast day but at least it was dry and not too cold, as we wandered up the village to deliver a sympathy card.  I know I have blipped the cross before but if you never blip the same thing twice you soon run out of subjects.

The cross is first mentioned in the records back in 1623 when the death of Joe Nicholson "the yonge childe of a poore beggar of the pishe (parish( of Broughton, which child died at the Towne Cross in Graistoke ".

In modern times particularly in summer, the steps are often the resting place of cyclists as they come through the village on the C2C (sea to sea) route.

The day improved with a mini blip meet with Technophode and LooseCanon in the village pub.  Great to be meeting blippers again with our last meets being just before everything went mad in February 2020 and an outdoor meet in June 2021 when the situation had temporarily eased.
