If you can't beat them...

Spathiphyllum

An even more desperation blip than most I have done of late.

A busy day from start to finish, back in time to sit down and see Winter Watch, then a zoom with Kat.  After that, it was time to finish a jib I started earlier in the day.  Finally, think about a blip.

The shot is a macro of the Spadix (the central spike) in a Spathiphyllum flower.  The Spadix is actually biologically the true flowers of the Peace Lily.  Each conical protuberance is a tiny female part of the flower, the male stamens aren't showing on this one they appear like white fluff between the cones.  The large "petal" behind the Sapix is the Spathe (hence the scientific name Spathiphyllum).  The whole thing is an inflorescence.
