Ice and robins

Met friend H up at Coppice Pond this afternoon for a circuit of the pond.  The road through the estate was like a motorway, but the paths were not overly busy.  H sat on a bench halfway round whilst I did another circuit and we then went to the bird hide where there were 2 robins together on a branch.  Took a while to get a shot fairly in focus.  The cheeky squirrels were running along the wire holding the bird feeders and knocking off the lids to get at the fat balls.  Quite a few birds around including a very pretty one we couldn’t identify, although it looked very similar to the Blackcap  blipped by Wendles56 yesterday. The pond was frozen over in parts and the swans kept taking off and then flying back in and skidding on the ice - missed those shots!  The fish woodcarving was encased in ice.  Noticed that there are a couple of Mergansers on the pond too.  Very chilly day, but lovely for a walk.
