Coming In

The bistro was full today and it was each bird for himself trying to get enough to survive the day, the the cold, the winter. The starlings are coming in more now.

Today will be remembered for quite a while. Robert decided our kitchen hob fan wasn't working to capacity and made it his mission after work to go up to the loft above the kitchen.

All was going well till a loud shriek followed nearly instantly by a dead rat then a rat trap dropping no catapulting through the hatch nearly scared me to death whilst preparing supper. The dogs disappeared like lightening under my feet and then all eyes were on the floor to actually see the cause of the commotion. 'Don't eat that!' I squealed  as the dogs thought it all looked very interesting! A head appeared from the roof  looking sheepish and I just couldn't stop giggling.

The  fan extractor pipe had been eaten through but nothing a bit of duck tape wouldn't fix.
