A bright flash on a dreary day

Today, the combination of a gray sky, wet snow, and a brisk wind, make for a very drab, dreary day.
I had to go out for an errand, and of course brought my camera. I drove by the lake, slowly looking for an interesting shot. Just then a flock of birds started to dart from bush to trees, looking for berries to eat.
I saw a bright flash of red fly by and land on a bush in front of me. It was a beautiful, bright red cardinal. Then, within a few minutes another appeared.
This is the 2nd time I've seen cardinals in the wild this winter.
There is always something to make us smile everyday. You just have to look for it!
