Sweet treats

We were awake before the alarm this morning.
I made a quick breakfast before we readied ourselves to be on the road by 9am.

It was very windy during the night, I had to get up and close the bedroom windows tight shut, it was too noisy and chilly! Hub said his head was cold, might need to find him a wee willy winky hat lol!!

We were must putting our coats on to leave when there was a thud on the patio windows, we turned to see a bird, flapping around, on closer examination it was a b£*#y sparrow hawk, it had swooped in on a blackbird that was feeding from the dish on our ballustrade!
I banged on the window really hard, it just put its wings out over its prey and looked right at me! Really hope it wasnt our Mr Bb :-(

It was quiet on the roads, we made good time, dropped hub off with 15 minutes to,spare, parked up, walked back, met him in Bloods, he was called more or less straight away, only two attempts, so not too bad. Got a chair a d pushed him to Xray Dept 41, only to find it was closed and that we had to go to Radiotherapy Dept 34, got there, in darkness, until a lady appeared in a fleece, with a woolly hat on, turns out she was the Radiographer, who had just arrived to do someone elses x-ray. She wasnt expecting us but said she would do hubs too thankfully! Afterwards Hub walked from the hospital exit, with me, back to the car park.....probably a little further than yesterdays walk......he did well, rather thna me get the car and go bakc to pick him up.

We were back in town by 11.30......got the bits I needed from the butchers & the bakery. Treated us to a couple of ecclescakes too, then collected 2 costa coffeess ;-)

Once home, I popped across to a neighbours, as a card was posted through saying a parcel had been delivered, my M&S items I guessed, plus another box, which turned out to be a lovely yorkshire goodies hamper, sent by our friend and ex neighbour.....made hub blub a little when we opened it :-)

Hub said to me you known what I fancy for lunch, fried tomatoes, typical, didnt have any!
Daughter to the rescue.....hub was face timing with her, she had some, so popped them round for him. She joked she was a bit gutted to see our hamper, as apparently she had ordered "something" for us, to be delivered when we got back from the hospital....it rather stole her thunder ;-) Her treat did arrive a little later, a dipping box full of brownies & blondies, marshmallows, fudge and dipping sauces!!

Youngest son and his wife called to see us, through the lounge window of course. We havent seen them face to face, since before hub was in hospital, on 5 December!! They stood outside for 50 minutes chatting, via our phones on speakers, they were perished, the wind has been bitter today! They too had brought us a "treat" in the form of cream cakes and some!!

Needless to say we have had tea & cake mid afternoon, chicken & pineapple charred skewers for dinner tonight, followed by more cake.....we will be rolling out of the house at this rate lol!!

Joking aside, we really very much appreciate all their intentions and kindness.....its been a day of people being very thoughtful and generous towards us.

We have just watched my team on tv, an average game, a draw was probably a fair result and are now halfway through watching hubs team, who have been unlucky, should have had a penalty and subsequently have gone 0-1 down. Second half to come.

Think we will be in bed early again tonight.
Take care everyone.
