LD 314 Wha daur meddle....?

Whether or not the origins of the Scottish fondness for both the Latin & Scots versions of this motto (on the Royal Coat of Arms in Scotland, as well  on the collar of the Order of the Thistle , on the badges of three Scots regiments  and in places as diverse as Milan and Nancy)  lie at the Battle of Largs, the  barbs on even this  little ornamental example give a good indication of why all such plants should be treated with care and caution.
