Flood Plain

Despite the puddles and the very grey skies, this morning was actually very pleasant for a good walk with Luna. Started off at the village church to see if the snow melt last week had seen the new (Nov/Dec) village flood overflow in use. Seemingly not, we got away surprisingly well in Bavaria with only a few localised floods and even the Danube at Regensburg and Passau seem to have not been affected. On the other side of the big European watershed, not far from us, the melt seems to be worse for the Rhine. The next day or two  are critical.

After we finished the walk it started raining and continued all day. Angie luckily did the evening walk!

PS the flood plain stretches from the white building/shed in the middle background to the spot where the photo was taken. It will turn green in spring and be used quite normally for grass & hay.
