Danish practicing with RAF on Salisbury Plain

What a treat I was let in for today, I went out after work to photograph some early March Hares with a friend over from the States but we stumbled across this training excise.

Not only were we treated to an amazing show, we were lucky to witness this Merlin helicopter from Denmark. This is the first time this has been seen here, they have never practiced in the UK like this before.

The Merlin has a 30 ton down draft, this would explain why both Tim and I were blown to the ground on the first fly by; was not expecting this, we were both focused on take awesome shots. The RAF guys obviously knew what was coming because were watch us and P***ed themselves as we rolled along the track in the man made hurricane.

My thanks for the warm welcome the RAF guys sowed us. Good Luck!
