An IKEA Glass!

The weather today is wet. Although "mild" at 3C the East Wind results in a "feels like"of -2C. I have closed the wooden window shutters to cut down the "cold radiator" effect of the only single glazed sash and case window in the building.

Sainsbury’s delivered our weekly shop just before the rain started. I know many areas are being deluged in snow. Looking at the forecasts for the next week, there will be a lot of snow about, but not for us.

I had a good chat (socially distanced with face masks) as he put the week’s supply into the baskets which I then transport into the house.

His route today could be quite difficult as there is snow in Dundee and much more to the south of us. The standard delivery truck is not too good at dealing with snow covered roads and some of his customers are located in awkward locations.

I wish him well and a safe journey.

Lunch today is a venison stew. Most welcome. Lunch is becoming very much a set occasion for us and why not?

The IKEA glass is for water only and the crystal is for "spiritual" use only. Today is Candlemas.

We have never broken a crystal glass, but the IKEA glasses have been broken on many occasions.

The days are noticeably longer and with luck the air temperatures will start to rise.

Gardening "chores" await. Growth is underway with snowdrops and daffodils now making an appearance along with weeds.
