Lapwing on ice!

A walk round the loch this morning was to be endured rather than enjoyed. The path was very slushy in parts and there were gusts of stinging rain .... one circuit was all I could manage today.

There wasn't a goose to be seen either on the water or on the nearby fields .... in their place was a small flock of Lapwings who just stand like soldiers on the remaining area of ice. I managed one photo before they sensed me and my camera and off they went on their own circuit of the loch before landing on an icy patch further away.
