Misty Tor

I’d only just got out of the shower at 7.45 this morning when the plasterers arrived to start work in the study, about 45 minutes early. Still, better than them being late and it meant it was the earliest we’ve had breakfast this year!

It also meant we were relatively early for a walk up Glastonbury Tor with Chris. Unfortunately, as we set off from the foot of the hill it started raining and by the time we got near the top you couldn’t actually see St Michael’s tower until you were almost next to it for cloud and rain and we were soaked to the skin.

The rain had eased slightly and the cloud cleared momentarily when we were back down and walking along Cinnamon Lane when I took this blip. Mono seemed to suit the day.

The plasterers made good progress and had all the plasterboard up by late afternoon, ready for actual plastering tomorrow.

Kate phoned this afternoon, very excited to tell us that she and her colleagues are getting their first COVID vaccination tomorrow because they work with students on the autism spectrum who are still in their unit full time and the local authority want to ensure that both staff and students are as safe as possible, which seems eminently  sensible.

We also spoke to our friends Tony & Rosie who had just had their jabs. Rosie is fighting cancer and Tony is just into his seventies, just a few years older than us, so hopefully it will be our turn soon. It appears that Somerset is making good progress with the vaccination programme.
