A nifty piece of parking

Not the boat in the foreground. That's been there for ages. This is Cromarty Links. Over there is Nigg where they're putting towers together for the Moray East offshore windfarm. The blue ship, stern on to us, is bringing cargo alongside. Enlarge it and you'll see more of the components on board.

Now, the wind is blowing an absolute hooligan from the right. The ship needs to dock well over to the left. So the pilot has aligned it parallel with the intended mooring, while the wind and  tide gently, gently take it in. Fifteen minutes later, gently, it's alongside. Looked easy. Wasn't.
