Spider...

…………………..….Web

The adult female nursery-web spider creates this distinctive white web, often seen on the tips of low shrubs like gorse, broom and reeds.

The web is to protect the young spiderlings when they first emerge from the egg sac. The female spider sits on the web to guard the nursery at night, but during the day she can be found near the base of the plant. The young remain in the web for about a week before dispersing.

Many thanks for the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s white daisies in a high key image. Again, window lighting was put to good use.
