Well Saved!....................

.....................When this beautiful Urasian Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo) was rescued from a private owner ( who should have been ashamed of himself) he weighed just three and a quarter pounds - which is about HALF the weight he should have been!! For his first meal he devoured 13 chicks! He is now in very good health and seemed devoted to his keeper and will actually lay across his lap. He was totally unpeturbed by my camera and seemed to love being stroked. I really fell in love with him!! and just look at those eyes! All the birds have an extremely large free flying area and if all goes well he will probably live for another 20 years or more.

It started off misty and frosty this morning but the sun is now shining brightly and the temperature is around 6 deg C.
