Absence makes the heart...

Bombur stopped coming just before Christmas. I know toms tend to wander, but the most likely outcome to this is that he has fallen victim to either a car or a coyote. This doesn't stop Tui and Charlie going and looking for him whenever the chance presents itself. The evening was enlivened a little by the visit of Jack, our friendly feral rabbit, who is obviously a lot happier now a big outdoor cat is out of the picture.

My brother has been admitted to hospital today with COVID. He's just retired after 30 years in the police, but his wife (and now his son) are still working - both in dispatch. There was a massive outbreak at the Mather Avenue centre in Liverpool - some 250 people went down with it - and it was brought back to their home. All three have it, although my brother appears to be the worse.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, his O2 levels dropped to around 79, so they called the paramedics, who rushed him in. He's comfortable and has COVID pneumonia in one lung, which is apparently treatable. It's a relief to know he is in the best place possible.

One day there will be a mighty reckoning with this government.
