Before the rain

It's usual to have a couple of heavy downpours during the winter here, and often some snow, but since August we have had an incredible amount of rain and the present lot is supposed to continue for the next two days... but as long as it doesn't turn to snow, because that might prevent me from catching my plane on Saturday :-(

Down to the hospital in the valley this morning for Steve's routine check-up with the consultant, and the waiting room was rather full, so we settled down for a long wait. But his name was the first to come over the tannoy, and we could almost here the shock of the others waiting - last to enter the waiting room, but first to be called (and English as well)!
