Half an hour in the garden....

Reg and I went for a short walk round the village this afternoon.  We were attacked by a snow blizzard part way down the hill, but nothing was going to stop us so we battled through and it only lasted a few minutes. We both had a good shake once it was over and all was well! When we arrived back to the garden the sun was shining beautifully and it was too nice to go back indoors so we had half and hour in the garden to soak up the rays. The wind was bitterly cold but the sun took off the edge. Reg had a great time digging about in the snow and I did throw a few snowballs for him. He's still not on top form since 'kangarroing' through the snow last week with Barry so I was mindful of what he was doing. He had a couple of days where he couldn't jump onto the sofa so I knew he was struggling. With some gentle massage and rest days he is recovered but I wouldn't let him go as mad as he would have liked! When we went indoors he found a sun puddle next to the stove and dozed there for a while before snuggling into his bed.
The hens don't seem to mind the snow too much although they miss being able to dig about in the earth. That's Vera in the photo, either the bravest or the greediest, always first in the queue.
Late morning I had my WW zoom call. I have to admit I enjoy it for the socialising probably more than the content, but it's an interesting bunch of people and a jolly way to pass an hour.
Tesco order completed in the hope that they will be able to deliver to the door tomorrow; hopefully not another trek down the hill with the shopping trolley!
A couple of phone calls to mum who seems pretty well all things considered. She wants to move about a bit more now so that's encouraging although she admits it does leave her a little breathless. Luckily she can't go far just outside the flat onto the landing to look out the window. I keep reminding her 'small steps.' Mandy, her cleaner is doing all her washing and shopping. She has known her a long time and is more a friend. The Carers are all very caring and mum would not be coping without them, which she does realise now,  and is using them to help her as she should.
Tomorrow will be a an admin day, cancelling my car insurance, tax etc. I'll also start the ball rolling to try and get mum moved to Bristol Court. Could be a day of phone calls and form filling....not my favourite things but needs must!
