Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

SNOW! There was plenty of it this morning, so we both went out with Archie round the block. Archie was off the lead, as there no cars, any he loved charging back and forth on the pavements.

It was unfortunate that we both went out, unusually, as the plumber, who was coming back to do a little task in the shower, came early. He had said, ‘Not before 9 o’clock’ and then arrived at 8.30! I must have just missed him, as I was keeping an eye on the time and came back before the others. No worries. He’s coming tomorrow at 8.30.

Robert was very disappointed to find that a doggy walk with Archie was off the cards for the second week in a row. He’s worried Archie will forget him! No chance, Robert!

I did my bike, then watched a bit of live tennis, as I’ve just found it on Eurosport. There were lots of snow flurries all morning, in between sunny periods. In fact, it was so gorgeous in the sunshine, that we were tempted out again.

We went over to the Links, and Archie just ploughed along with his beard in the soft snow. He looked ridiculous. (Extra by JR) The place was busy with kids and families and sledges, all having fun.

It certainly does cheer everyone up to get out in the snow in the sunshine, but I know it’s causing disruptions elsewhere.
