Zero food miles

Satisfying to have an in-house meal occasionally. Supper was sourced entirely from home produce:  eggs from the hens, leeks and greens from the garden, bread I made, blackberry and apple compote from roundabout, cooked and frozen last autumn.

Several comments yesterday expressed interest or concern about  our local  badgers. Just to demonstrate that, not only are they thriving but they too are living off the fat of the land, the extra shows the extent of their foraging all along our lane and right up into the yard. Every night they are busy grubbing up worms (their main food source). February is both the breeding and the birthing season for badgers so they need all they can get.
