Still Some Snow

Gales have been blowing all day, and bitterly cold.  A dull grey sky, but cheery snow brightened up the landscape.

Weekend off, and up early.  Walkies around Scalloway after breakfast.  Met mam for a walk up north this afternoon.  Working in the shop this evening.  Feet up by the fire now.

It took some bravery to go out today, but once out, it wasn't as bad as it looked.  One of me and mam's walks was to the top of Scora Vird Hill, which was almost Arctic conditions, but more peaceful down in the village.  We also got to speak with some old friends.  This croft house was looking a tad chilly, with snow on the roof, it must be well insulated.  Taken at the Taftin, Sullom.
