Technology issues (and some help, please!)

This morning started out like recent days then, around 9am, a mist rolled in from the coast and engulfed us in a chill dampness. Not to worry, there was business to be done today in Ayr - just a few miles away, where the sun was shining brightly! The 'business' involved meeting a local marketing company, which is designing a website for our community (and on a generous rate, it should be said). Those of us who are involved are hoping it may spark greater interest in what's going on and bring our community together more. Are we hoping for too much? Certainly, there don't seem to be any easy solutions.

Technology is both awful and wonderful in its many guises - just look at blipfoto, which offers the immediacy of posting pictures and comments that are shared with people around the world. And the change in photography is amazing when compared with just a few years back. But traditional neighbourhood communities - large and small - have changed as well and not always for the best. Can the technology of a website and facebook bring out the community spirit here? We shall see!

Today's photo (50th consecutive blip) seemed a good idea at the time! It was taken without flash, to avoid ugly shadows, with the ISO was ramped up to 400 - the max this compact can do. The indoor light seemed OK, not least enhanced by the PC screen and the result looked OK on the camera's little screen. Only when processing were the grainy limitations revealed. So, any advice (other than getting a better camera!) would be welcome.

Incidentally, back at ThisOldHouse, the mist didn't lift all day!
