Our Yard Guard

All day we're under a thick layer of clouds, what darkens the light and raises the temp above zero; so thaw set in, it still feels cold and the heron of our backyard is all I spotted outdoors today and captured before he moved on.

I cropped the image somewhat and like it best in BW ~ since this heron guards our backyard and sits on our balconies, I suppose he is a kind of friend to us and may thus be presented in today's MM challenge; thank you Carolina!
