A Sea of Gulls

A really windy day, and it was pouring with rain this morning.  Skies cleared, and a sunny afternoon.  Another shower this evening. 

I've been working in the museum all day.  We had a local man doing wild swimming in the dock, and also a new Merchant Navy Memorial arrived out on the pier.  I made a few pancakes after tea, had to be done.  Met friend Julie for walkies this evening, and we got caught in that shower!  Feet up now, fire on, telly on.  A new report this morning said we are at 37% of people now with first dose of vaccine in Shetland. 

I headed down to mam's at lunchtime, and our walk didn't really happen.  We headed along the banks, and huge waves were rolling in, we watched for ages.  Along with the waves, the sun was out, and the colours were amazing.  With the sea churning, the maas and scories (adult and juvenile herring gulls) were getting a great feed, which will be much needed after the big 2021 freeze.  Take  at Aith Wick, Cunningsburgh.
