People and places connected.

We walked over this bright green and grey bridge over a local tidal river opened in 2018. The bridge span is 48m (same length as seven double decker buses). It was funded by Scottish Government/SUSTRANS programme, the European Community and the Local authority etc. The bridge is the first new route bridge in the council area in 100 years apparently; it connects residents and visitors to recreation, amenities, employment, and one of the biggest tourist attractions in Scotland. The bridge and the surrounding paths are “shared use;” all are suitable for and accessible to cyclists, walkers, users with mobility issues and horse-riders.

We watched FMQs from Scottish Parliament. An Audit report on public health planning pre-pandemic featured. Main finding: “The Scottish Government acted quickly to prevent the NHS from being overwhelmed by Covid-19, but it could have been better prepared to respond to the pandemic.” Naturally, selective quotes picked up by media. Hindsight is a great gift. The ultimate skill is coping with, and reacting to, the dynamic situation and events as they unfold.

Made lentil soup and my wife made banana loaf (absolutely not for me).

Family are well.
