End of an era

It's almost 2 years since I retired and for 20 of the 32 years I spent as a GP I worked from this building which we built in 1991 to replace the cramped health centre we previously occupied. A lot of planning and work (as well as expense) went into the development of the surgery and it has worked well for us. When we first built it, we built it twice the size that we needed. Since then we have extended it four times!!

Today is the day I have finally sold my share of the building on to my successor and I went in to give back my key. It seems strange going in as a visitor rather than a landlord but it is good to put a line under this part of my life.
