Good news on the lens front. I did another shout at MPB on-line and posted a scathing /true report on Trustpilot.  I was contacted by a boss who insisted the damage was caused by carrier. I asked how did that account for missing lens cap and that the box was not damaged.
They put the original agreed money for the lens into my account by yesterday evening.  I've got the lens packed ready for collection/return.
I will not be using MPB again.
