The Clyde has lots of strange built and abandoned features - weirs, mill-races, jetties, and riverside industry. This is a relatively modern, maybe nineteenth or early twentieth century, boat-house on top of a much older river access, at Blantyre. The area has many traces of building, from a medieval priory to Industrial Age mills and a coal mine, all long gone.
