An old brown pulpit

Well the guys got the stage cleared off today and we put the old pulpit back in the middle of the stage.

A while ago we found it down in the basement crawl space. As far as we can figure it was the original pulpit for the church. That was three buildings ago. About 131 years ago.

It’s taken the place of honour now. And when things are normal, I use it. Sometimes I think of all the history it’s seen. A couple of world wars, dirty 30s, the depression and these days I think how it faced the Spanish Flu pandemic.

I’d love to read how the church faced those days, but all the notes and minutes are written in Swedish.

Anyway this Sunday we’ll be using it again. Add our history to its memory.
