"Geroff it's Mine!"

This swan and an almost-mature cygnet were squabbling over a tasty morsel at Killingworth Lake this morning.

We must be very unobservant, as we've never before noticed that the cygnets have a pale violet colour to their beaks at this adolescent stage, rather than the bright orange of the adult.
