Rob’s Snaps!

Night walk

Another long day. Really pleasant evening for a walk, around 18C with a slight breeze. Missed the sun going down. Headed out with the Lumix and the oddball 15mm Summilux attached, determined to improve my low light skills.

Frome Street is a few minutes from home, and always provides opportunities for interesting photos with numerous businesses closed for the day but still lit up. Enzo’s Auto Services has been on Frome Street since 1983. They specialise in European cars, restoring classic Porsches, Ferraris, Mercedes and VWs. Pre-COVID, on days when I’d go into the office I would walk past Enzos. I can’t remember there ever being a time when there wasn’t at least a couple of 911s in the shop being restored, occasionally something more exotic like a Ferrari or Lamborghini.

I often go with black and white for these night scenes. The extra photos are the all night pharmacy next door to Enzo’s. I like the way the two cars balance the scene.  Don’t know much about the pharmacy, except to say that it is a bit unusual. I think it may be closing down soon, so will try to grab some more through the windows shots capturing its jumble of goods and services before it’s gone.
