Shot

Spent shotgun cartridges were the only colourful thing on this morning's grey and damp spaniel walk. Although he's supposed to be a gun dog the spaniel hates loud noises of any kind. For his first nine years he seemed oblivious to noise and would happily walk around with fireworks going off but over the last twelve months or so he has turned and headed straight for home at the slightest hint of pheasant shooting or even a distant motorbike. One unexpected benefit of the latest lockdown has been the reduction in shooting.
