The Bee Flew Over the Moon :: MMC21

After a very wet start to the day I popped out into the front garden to do some tidying. I heard a swarm of bees and when I looked up my tree* was covered in them collecting pollen from the catkins.

I took this shot moments before the sun went behind the horizon and should be seen in colour (extra). The moon and bee are out of focus but I think the clear blue sky and golden light on the catkins stand out.

*I was thinking of removing this Alder, it makes a huge mess and has grow between and competing with 2 Silver Birch. Now I've seen the bees using it for early food I may just have it trimmed.

Day 22 of my self imposed Mono Month Challenge for 2021.
