Study in green

In pride of place in Mum's back garden is a Japanese Maple tree that Tara gave her nana a couple of years ago. It is growing beautifully and is a favourite with Mum. After a couple of hot days it was a welcome relief to have a day of light rain to cool things down and water the garden. I remember a rhyme from school days about "red and green should never be seen except upon an Irish Queen", but red and green appear so often together in nature as in this photo, or any photo of a red flower.

I would have liked to get a photo of Mum but she remains camera shy :-(
