RAF

This stamp was issued before I was born. It shows a Sopwith Camel to mark 1918 and an English Electric Lightning for 1968. Both these aircraft are now past their prime, though the RAF does now have some American F-35B Lightnings now (though they are shared with the Royal Navy).

My father was in the RAF, though he had left before I was born. He volunteered rather than be conscripted, and was in the RAF Police as a dog handler. I gather that guarding empty and disused air bases was very boring work, but he had his dog for company....

Work has been fairly dull today, but I managed to get a few things done...
